PW - Digipack Idea

Whilst producing our own digipack I have been looking at other digipacks in the same genre of our artist. This is the album 'A Grand Don't Come For Free' by 'The Streets'.

As you can see, the album cover is very simplistic which involves one image. The image is of a bus stop shelter in a very urban location. The reader can see that it is urban because there the bus stop is damaged and it has graffiti on it. The artist is seen to one side of the bus shelter leaning up against the window, this shows that he could possibly be lonely or bored, either with waiting or other issues he has. The font used is also very simple, the name of the band 'The Streets' is layered onto its iconic cigarette lighter which shows that the artist is rebellious and youthful as smoking is often stereotyped to the youth.

I think that this digipak is good because it is in an urban location, which is what we will try to achieve when constructing our digipak and magazine advertisement.

  1. Paul, i did like the idea of giving it a down to earth amateur idea, however the conventions are more leaning towards the hip-hop rap spectrum, but the initial idea is good.
