JB - Music Video Idea
I Can Transform Ya - Chris Brown Ft. Lil Wayne, Swiss Beats.
I like this video due to the high amount of intertexuality, examples, are the whole topic of the song is related to the film Transformers, there are such instances in the graphics where people are changed to bikes, cars and fire trucks. There is also time shwen they are dressed up as characters from the Matrix, and the background as well is very blank inferencing the Matrix again. The dance moves as well are very much influenced by Michael Jackson, sich as the anti gravity lean. Also the post production sound effects on the voice through auto tune is very much like artists such as T- Pain and when Kanye West went through the Auto-Tune phase.

Joe, after watching this music video I can see where the intertexuality is important in music videos.
ReplyDeleteI think that we should use some intertextuality in our music videos for example we should include the footage of you dancing as part of our video as it can be related to 'crip walking' which is a very specific style of urban dancing.
Also, further intertextuality in our own music video could be considered postmodern as for example in the baseball bat scene which could be related to the popular modern films 'kidulthood' and 'adulthood'.
